About Us
CHARISM AND INTENTIONS
from the writings of our Foundress
The Vision
I envisioned a religious community whose structure would make possible a religious family rooted in a deep prayer life. The Sisters’ ascetical practices would involve physical, intellectual and spiritual work, thus witnessing our poverty of body, mind, and spirit.
Apostolate
The apostolic works of retreats and catechetics would necessarily focus on the Catholic Faith, thus continuously nourishing the Sisters’ spiritual lives as well as those of the people we serve.
Our Patrons
St. Francis and St. Dominic, examples of poverty and learning as well as their heroic obedience to the Pope and to the Magisterium of the Church have been chosen as the patrons of the Sister Servants. The unity of their hearts in Jesus Christ and their loving devotion to his Immaculate Mother typify the unity, love, and zeal that gave impetus to and sealed their friendship. They inspire us how to teach the faith by the holy witness of their lives.

The Eucharist
We center our lives in the Eucharist. It is in the Eucharist especially that we are united to the One who is the object of all our love. Here, with Him – with Christ – we find greater understanding and compassion for God’s people. Here we find the strength to persevere in our commitment to selfless service.
Mary, Our Model and Guide
We, the Sister Servants, gratefully accept the gift of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the true Handmaid of the Lord, as our model and guide. True devotion to Mary is an integral part of our religious life. We safeguard our love for her by sound theology in order that our mission be fully authentic, solid, and joyful. We must look to Mary and listen to Mary, our Mother, who encourages us also to “do whatever He tells us.” If we succeed in doing what Jesus tell us, we too will experience the miraculous, the ultimate reward of Heaven – the Beatific Vision.
