The Sister Servants’ apostolate is evangelization through catechesis and retreats. In the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Dominic, we foster a deep devotion to the liturgy, Sacraments, Mary, and obedience to the magisterium of the Catholic Church and the Pope. We invoke the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for us and accompany us in our apostolate. We encourage true devotion to her and zealously promote her Holy Rosary. (cf. Constitutions)
Weekend Retreats
The Sister Servants run Casa Maria Retreat House and have different priests from around the US come and speak on various topics on the faith. We offer hospitality, meals, fellowship, and invite our retreatants to participate in our prayer schedule throughout the weekend.
Parish & School Catechesis
Our Sisters currently serve one school and one parish on a weekly basis in our diocese. At St. James Catholic School, Sisters teach religion to all the grade levels, including sacramental preparation, and work with the students and teachers in preparing reverent liturgies, monthly Benediction, and frequent confession.
The Parish Setting
At St. Barnabas Parish, the Sisters teach family faith formation and sacramental preparation, emphasizing weekly Mass and Confession within the parish setting.
Come, Follow me
Sisters promote the catechetical program, “Come, Follow Me” at Casa Maria and other parishes. This contemplative catechesis – rooted in the Scriptures, the rudiments of mental prayer, and a relationship with God – was developed in France under the influence of Bl. Eugene Marie of the Child Jesus, and it has borne much fruit.
College Campus Outreach
Currently our Sisters visit three different FOCUS campuses in the state of Alabama, and participate in a variety of activities that include FOCUS-led Bible studies, fellowship, prayer, and talks.
Parish and School Presentations
We have ample opportunity to speak at a number of parishes throughout the year for Days of Recollection, 1st Saturday devotions, school visits, vocation talks, Vacation Bible School and other faith formation activities as requested.
Faith Formation Studies
Since COVID, Sisters host two weekly Zoom Faith studies with families and retreatants around the US. This formation group has studied such topics as Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist, The Father’s House with Fr. Dave Pivonka, and Chris Stefanick’s Real Life Catholic Journey.
Casa Maria bookstore
The Sister Servants operate Casa Maria Bookstore, a physical store on our property that also offers online purchases. As part of our catechesis, we provide excellent materials on the Catholic faith, as well as plenty of devotional items for the home and the individual. To browse our selection, click below.
