If you have ever visited Casa Maria Convent and Retreat House than you are familiar with our red tile roofs which complement the mission style architecture of the building. Recently, we had some help cleaning the tile roof in our courtyard which had become discolored with dirt and the outdoor mold connected with pine sap.
Years ago, with help from young and old(er), the Sisters tiled sections of the roof of the new convent and retreat house. With the proper care and cleaning we hope to see our tile roof hold up for many, many years to come.
This past October, Gavin, who works for us, had some help from two excellent volunteers. Their efforts and ingenuity paid off as they were able to clean the roof while sparing the plants and grass any significant damage. The result was tremendous!
